We have created this Makassar colonial archaeology tour to provide a historical tour of Makassar. Our trip packages are equipped with expert tour guides in the field of archaeology, who will ensure that your tour is both fun and educational.
The tour will commence at 8 a.m. with a visit to Balla Lompoa, the Royal Palace of Gowa, which was built in 1936. After that, proceed to Somba Opu Fort.

The tour then continues to Fort Rotterdam, one of the best-preserved examples of Dutch military architecture in Indonesia. There will also be an opportunity to enjoy sunset at Makassar’s old harbor, called Paotere, which is home to the famous Pinisi ship. The tour will conclude with the driver taking you back to your hotel, harbor, or airport.
